Kiln-dried logs have been dried to a low moisture content, making them easy to light and suitable for use in modern wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and outdoor fire pits. Our kiln-dried firewood can have a moisture content as low as 16%.
Choosing properly dried firewood helps your appliance burn efficiently and can produce a consistent, comfortable heat. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions for your particular stove or fireplace and use firewood suitable for the appliance.

As well as kiln-dried logs, Earnshaws offers air-dried hardwood and softwood firewood, including bulk deliveries for customers who need larger quantities.
Our bull deliveries of air-dried logs are an economical option for customers looking to build up a larger stock of seasoned firewood. Air-dried logs are naturally seasoned before sale and can be an excellent choice where you have suitable storage space and can allow the logs to continue drying before burning.

For modern wood-burning appliances, dry firewood with an appropriate moisture content is essential for good combustion. Kiln-dried logs offer a convenient ready-to-burn option, while air-dried logs can be a cost-effective choice for customers with appropriate storage and drying conditions.

Yes. Earnshaws supplies air-dried softwood kindling made from split joinery timber. It is designed to make starting your fire easier and can be ordered alongside your firewood.
Firewood delivered from our Midgley centre is responsibly sourced, with much of our timber coming from our own woodlands. We also produce firewood offcuts from our joinery workshop.
Firewood should be stored somewhere that allows air to circulate around the logs while protecting them from excessive rain and ground moisture. Keeping logs off the ground and under a suitable cover can help them remain dry.
