We currently have vacancy for a Retail Assistant based at Wentworth Fencing Centre. We are looking for someone who is outgoing and confident, with good telephone manner and excellent customer service skills. Basic computer skills essential and retail experience desirable. Full time position, which includes some weekend shifts on a rota basis.
A varied job awaits where no two days will be the same.
Ensure customers are met and greeted, offering help and assistance.
Checking off goods loaded into customer vehicles.
Processing sales/quotes/orders/delivery notes/ invoices through a till and/or accounting programme.
Ensure sales stands are well stocked, products safely displayed and correctly priced and labelled.
Dealing with telephone and website based enquiries
Reporting of low stocks to your Supervisor/Manager
Ensure catalogues dispensers are adequately stocked at all time
All sales and work areas are clean and tidy including the customer toilets + preparation areas.
Work closely with colleagues as part of a small professional team.
Attend relevant training sessions/courses stipulated by the company
Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations
In line with Manual Handling Procedure you may be required to lift some heavy products
Respond in a positive appropriate manner to deal with any issues regarding quality control problems or customer complaints, ensure your Line Manager is made aware of any complaints
Other comparable duties within the business as/when required
Assisting other team members as/when required
Good Communication skills both verbal and written
Excellent telephone manner
Work in a professional manner
Good Computer skills
Be able to multi task
Ability to working using your own initiative or as part of a team
The ability to liaise with your Supervisor / Manager
Ability to accurately calculate sizes and convert metric/imperial
Follow management instructions
Ability to receive and process feedback with a positive approach
Manual Handling : – Lifting, carrying, stretching, reaching, manual dexterity for equipment control
Required Qualifications / Training
A good level of education including GCSE or similar in Maths and English
Previous experience in a retail environment
Clean full driving licence
First Aid Qualification
Knowledge/understanding of the timber trade
