Protek outdoor wood paint is featured regularly on popular TV shows where professional garden designers show just how transformative outdoor wood paint can be. In 2020 Protek appeared on Prue’s Great Garden Plot. The new garden was a blank canvas and a wide-open brief but in keeping with Prue’s love of bright hues, it had to have colour, and lots of it. The colour was going to be added through plants and trees but also through upcycling their garden furniture. And that’s where outdoor wood paint came in. Prue and John selected some of the brightest, and most vibrant shades that would undoubtedly ‘pop’ in the garden.
In September 2022 the innovative brand, Osmo, hit the shelves of our Midgley centre. Osmo manufactures a range of high-quality decking protection oils, wood revival kits, outdoor wood paints and UV protectant oil. Osmo uses carefully harvested natural oils and hard waxes to create a vegan friendly product that has outstanding quality with a perfect finish.

Outdoor paint and preservatives can be separated in to two categories.
1. Wood Preservers to preserve and protect timber against rot and fungi
2. Wood Stains and outdoor wood paints that colour and create a waterproof coating to protect against the elements
Wood preserver should be used for preserving timber and enhancing its natural look whilst outdoor wood paints provide the widest scope for combining protection and a wide range of colours, from subtle to striking.
