Midgley is the location of our Yorkshire Garden & Fencing Centre, the Little Acorn coffee stop and our head office. Based close to the historical sawmill first opened by Job Earnshaw, it is situated between Huddersfield, Wakefield and Barnsley.
Only minutes from Junctions 38 and 39 of the Ml, Midgley is easily accessible to visitors from Leeds, Dewsbury, Batley and Morley, Holmfirth and Denby Dale, Ossett and Horbury, as well as Barnsley, Penistone and Sheffield.

Then visit our Yorkshire Garden & Fencing Centre at Midgley you will love the unique and peaceful location, close to the M1. It’s a one-stop shop for gardening and landscaping enthusiasts.
Each of our centres features extensive and imaginative displays for you to browse at your leisure. In addition, you can view our carefully selected seasonal ranges of gardeners gifts, garden art, stone ornaments, planters, troughs, chimeneas and fire pits.
Garden cabins are a speciality and we can design and build a fully bespoke garden room from scratch – the only limit is your imagination and we have several displays at Midgley to inspire you. A broad range of landscaping materials are in stock – all available for delivery in bulk.
For paths and borders, we have a variety of log rolls and paving options and for flower beds, we have forest mulch and bark chippings. For screening, choose from two sizes of woven willow panels.
Our decorative aggregates and gravel include Cotswold chippings, Portland pebbles and Pea gravel. For smaller gardens, we have a range of artificial grass and planters which make perfect window boxes.
As well as catering for all your gardening needs, our Midgley centre is home to the Little Acorn coffee stop and two fascinating woodland walks!
The Little Acorn coffee-stop, our converted vintage horse-box, serves barista coffees, great cuppas, soft drinks, cakes and snacks, including gluten-free and vegan options.
And for the young adventurers among us, we have two nature trails of differing lengths for you to explore, with historical facts about the area dotted throughout.
We are open seven days a week all year round and with plenty of free of parking spaces. It’s a perfect place to pop-in and visit in person, pick up some inspiration or ask our team for some expert advice!
Our on-site shop stocks a unique range of gardening and DIY products – tools, decking accessories, screws, brackets, hinges, padlocks, protective gloves, spades, rakes, brushes, gorilla tubs and wheelbarrows plus paints, stains and preservatives by Protek and Osmo. Seasonal displays feature fireside accessories and bird care products in the winter, and outdoor heating in the summer. We have a pop up plant shop in the summer and a firewood centre which operates all year round.
Both our centres stock ready to burn, kiln-dried firewood logs, as well as solid fuels and coals. Our Midgley centre also stocks partially seasoned, air-dried softwood and hardwood firewood logs, either for delivery or collection in loose loads of 2m3 or more.
At Midgley our well- stocked, one-stop location for firewood, kindling, logstores and fireside accessories is convenient for Huddersfield, Wakefield and Barnsley. You are welcome to collect our handy sized nets and dump bags or arrange for a bulk delivery by transit van.
We also offer a delivery service, including Saturdays and Sundays, usually within two or three working days, and if schedules allow we will deliver the same day!
