National Nest Box Week!

Bird Box

National Nest Box Week takes place every year between the 14th and 21st of February. It was started in 1997, by the British Trust for Ornithology to encourage wildlife back into the garden, because the increasing numbers of trees being cut down, meant less homes for birds to nest in.

Its aim now is to encourage more people to put nest boxes in their local area to promote wildlife and the conservation of animals. Anyone can participate in the national event, so long as you have an outdoor space big enough to place a nest box.

Different bird boxes attract different species of birds. A smaller hole may attract a Blue Tit or House Sparrow, whereas a larger hole will attract Starlings or even a Little Owl.

All of the bird boxes we sell are made from natural timber and have been designed to RSPB standards. Fly down to one of our centres to pick up yours, in time for the breeding season, or visit our eBay store to see our colourful selection of decorative bird boxes.
