What’s in a Hedgerow?

Hedgerows

Hedgerows play an important role in the rural landscape. They help to prevent soil erosion and water run-off, as well as helping to corral livestock and protect crops from the wind. In addition, they are an important habitat for several species of birds, which nest deep inside.

These hedgerows are protected by the Hedgerows Regulations 1997. As nature lovers, and a business that values the countryside, Earnshaws Fencing Centres are only too happy to abide by these regulations. So just in case you were wondering what’s stopping us from trimming the hedgerows lining the road into our Fencing Centre at Midgley – now you know!
